Failed the theory exam: what now?
TheorieWin is not the CBR and does not book exams. What cbr.nl says always applies.
Failing is annoying, but you can try again soon. Within 24 hours you get your results form by email; after that you can book a retake in Mijn CBR or through your driving school. You do not see which questions you got wrong, but the form does show how you did on each topic: that is where you start.
What your results form tells you
- You get the form by email. You can also find it in Mijn CBR.
- You see per exam topic how you did. You do not see which questions you got wrong.
- During the exam you do not see which topic a question belongs to either: so the form is your best clue.
When can you try again?
- As soon as your result has been processed, usually within 24 hours, you can book a new exam.
- You can do that in Mijn CBR or through your driving school. You do not need to authorise your driving school again.
- In Mijn CBR you see per exam location on which days and at what times there is a place.
- A retake is a new exam at the normal price. See in the booking guide which version suits you.
How to prepare for your retake
- Start with your weak topics from the results form, not at the start of the book.
- Practise with animations. Many questions start with a film without sound: look far ahead and predict what will happen. See examples.
- Learn the Dutch terms, even if you take the exam in English or with an interpreter.
- Take mock exams of 50 questions in 30 minutes and only book when you keep getting 44 or more right.
- Was the language the problem? Check whether extra time, the English exam or an exam with an interpreter suits you better.
